Total Beneficiaries – 1,39,220 patients

Initially “Warud region”, Amravati district was adopted for diagnosis and surgical treatment of physically handicapped children since 1992. Every year Camps were conducted and patients were selected for Deformity correction, by Surgical operation and rehabilitation by providing Orthotics-Caliper & Shoes. Operated about 600 patients Free of Cost over 10 years from 1993 to 2003 and provided Free caliper & shoes for more than 350 children in the area of Warud region.

Adopted “Dhamna village & surrounding region”, in Nagpur Tehsil & District

FREE DISTRIBUTION OF SPECTACLES

In the year 2005 Established the General Charitable hospital in rural area-Dhamna called Siddhi Sewa Rugnalaya & Library called Simran Vachanalaya, under the banner of Sudharna Trust of which Dr.Sudhir Babhulkar is Trustee for providing the medical, educational facilities to the students and general population.

SIMRAN LIBRARY – PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST – RECOGNIZED BY GOVERONMENT OF MAHARSHTRA
Simran Library and Sudharana Trust are managing the library for the benefit of villager, School children’s. Daily six news papers are displayed on the news paper board. Library is open from 9 am to 4 pm where children from school & colleges derives the benefit. The library conducts regular seminar & lectures for educational activities & agricultural crops. Scientific, Spiritual, Agricultural, Rhizobium culture & other advanced technique information are provided to common man via conducting workshop, interacting seminars by inviting concern specialist of field.

FREE DIAGNOSTIC CAMP BY SUSHRUT HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTRE, NAGPUR

For the poor & needy patients with Orthopaedic disabilities and to take care of Urban population in addition to Vidarbha association of physically handicapped, active participation was done at NARCAOOD as a Orthopaedic Consultant since last 40 years and has been managing the affairs of Rehabilitation centre as office bearer in the capacity of Vice President for more than 25 years.

NARCOOD IS ALSO A POST-GRADUATE TRAINING CENTRE FOR PHYSIOTHERARY GRADUATES.

Prof.Dr Sudhir Babhulkar has been actively involved in the activities of BJD international (WHO PROJECT). Served as a Co-ordinator BJD India since year 2000 till today. Conducted various Public awareness programme and educational activities for the care of patients of Bone & Joint involvement and Osteoporosis. Represented BJD India at Ottawa Canada - BJD International Conference in the year 2006. Organised BJD India – Internationl covention on 29th – 30th November 2008 at Pune.

Organised various educational & awareness programme under the banner of BJD India regarding Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Backache, & Spine problems.

CHARITABLE WORK AT SUSHRUT HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENRE NAGPUR

Has a “charitable wing” at Sushrut Hospital Research Centre and post-Graduate Institute of Orthopaedics for the regular check-up and treatment of patients of Orthopaedics and Traumatology including the operative procedure, bearing Reg No.E-1327 registered under BPT act. About 25% beds in this hospital are reserved for this free charitable work, where patients are operated or treated free of cost.

In last 3 years & 9 months (Sep 2006 to May 2010) 2600 indegent & weaker section patients were treated for surgical correction free of cost incurring the total expenditure of Rs 36,94,120/-
